Beginner B

This jazz piano course builds on concepts from the Beginner A Course, diving deeper into jazz theory, improvisation, and voicings. The first two months focus on scale harmony, covering major, melodic minor, diminished, pentatonic, augmented, and whole-tone scales along with their applications in chord progressions.

The next phase introduces four improvisation methods—Chord Mapping, the SCO method, Jazz Patterns, and Barry Harris’ Dominant Scale Rules—applied to "The Girl From Ipanema." The final stage refines voicings and comping with shell, rootless, and open voicings through standards like "Tune Up."

With structured lessons, guided exercises, and assessments, this course provides a practical and in-depth approach to jazz piano fluency.
