This Intermediate Jazz Piano Course expands on foundational jazz concepts, focusing on theory, stylistic techniques, and improvisation.
The first module covers scale harmony in-depth, including major, melodic minor, diminished, and whole-tone scales, with a graded quiz on their applications.
The second module explores stylistic techniques like grace notes, arpeggios, rootless and quartal voicings, pentatonic harmonization, and Drop 2 voicings, applied to jazz standards like "In A Sentimental Mood" and "Smile." The final module dives into Barry Harris’ improvisation rules for dominant, major, and minor scales, using jazz standards like "Blue Monk" and "But Not For Me" for practical application.
With structured lessons and guided exercises, this course equips students with the skills to play, improvise, and interpret jazz with greater fluency and expression.
